Deele College Students Celebrate Peace Pledge Tree with Royal & Prior Comprehensive Friends

Students from Deele College and the Royal and Prior Comprehensive School, both in Raphoe, came together to celebrate the Amazing the Space Pathway to Peace youth-led peace initiative between four hundred schools from across Northern Ireland and the border counties. The event took place in the Foyle Arena Complex in Derry. Students also came to see the Peace Pledge Tree in Ebrington Square, Derry, a seven-metre high sculpture created by artist Maurice Harron that features more than 400 peace pledges on its leaves. The peace pledges were composed by students from schools involved in this peacebuilding initiative. It will form part of a peace trail in this area. The event was organised by the very Reverend David Latimer and Co-operation Ireland.
