Making the decision to study with Donegal ETB will start you on a journey of personal discovery that will both improve your confidence and skills and prepare you for further study or employment.

Most of our courses are accredited through either Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) or other recognised accrediting bodies such as City and Guilds and industry specific qualifications.

We also offer unaccredited leisure and short taster courses through our Community Education Programme. We hold designated QQI provider status which means that we are able to quality assure our own QQI courses thereby ensuring you have an excellent learning experience.

The establishment of Donegal ETB from the merger of Donegal VEC and FÁS has brought together the majority of publicly funded adult education and training for the first time. Our aim is to provide the people of Donegal with a comprehensive and exciting range of education and training courses that meet the complex needs of students and the development needs of the county.

Donegal ETB Programmes

Donegal ETB offer a range of Education and Training programmes for those wishing to gain recognised qualifications and begin their journey in Lifelong Learning. Our programmes range in levels from 2-6 on the National framework of Qualifications and there are options available throughout the year both Part-Time, Full-Time and during the evenings in Autumn and Spring.

Learning For Living (Literacy)

The Learning for Living programme offers tuition to adults who are unsure of their skills and knowledge in reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, numbers and computers. The programme offers learning that is tailored to the needs of each student in a supportive and friendly environment.  Time is given to acquire skills and tutors are aware that progress is often made in small stages.

Community Education

The Community Education Programme supports the delivery of adult education courses in the community through provision of funding for tuition costs and support in the setting up of courses. By its nature, community education provision is driven by the needs of the community and organised locally. This ‘bottom up’ approach ensures that adult education in a community setting is always addressing the educational needs of the local community.
