FET Service Hosts Croatian Ministry of Science & Education Staff Study Visit

Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) Service recently hosted six staff from the Ministry of Science and Education in Croatia who wanted to learn about the courses that Donegal ETB delivers in the county. ETB staff made a number of presentations and gave an overview of the service. Presentations included:

  • Skills for Work – a programme that supports adults who are in the workplace and have low qualifications;
  • Basic Education – adults who return to improve their skills in reading, writing, computer skills and gain a qualification;
  • Digital Skills – to support adults in this digital age;
  • Themed courses – that integrate tourism, retail or horticulture topics;
  • Books and resources that had been developed by Donegal ETB to support the creation of a learner-centred adult environment.

After the presentation and discussion, two Further Education and Training Centres were visited.  The study group met with learners and tutors and were able to experience the adult classroom environment and talk to learners.
