Retirement of Siubhan Gillespie

Donegal ETB last night joined long-standing staff member Siubhan Gillepsie and her family to mark her immense contribution to the work of Donegal ETB following her retirement after more than 22 years of public service with it.

Siubhan worked in many areas of Donegal ETB across the county including Buncrana, Milford and Killybegs before joining its Administrative Office in Letterkenny to work on the administration of pensions. She was appointed Head of Pensions in 2003 and became a key member of the nationally formed Pensions Group, engaging with various stakeholders at national and Departmental level on a whole range of issues through which she developed an immense fountain of knowledge. This was used to advise Donegal ETB’s HR and Payroll sections and large numbers of staff (1,600+) and retirees on their entitlements and benefits.

Siubhan is well known for her fantastic organisational skills which were used to good effect as a cancer survivor in Letterkenny’s Relay for Life Organising Committee, galvanising the efforts of Donegal ETB staff to fundraise for it. This saw €12,000 raised in its first year in 2012. Her contribution to Letterkenny Relay for Life was such that she was awarded the Global Relay for Life Hero for Hope in 2014.

Donegal ETB would like to sincerely thank Siubhan for her dedicated service, collegiality and friendship over the years and to wish her every happiness and good health to enjoy her retirement with her family.
