Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) Service has published its new FET Prospectus for the incoming academic year, 2025-2026, which includes a number of new courses starting across the county.
The Prospectus provides detailed information on almost 80 full and part-time courses in a diverse range of areas from Levels 3-6, many of which are co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.
Courses cover the learning areas of administration, business and finance; art, craft and design; construction and the built environment; courses for people with disabilities; early learning and care; engineering and manufacturing; general learning; green skills; hair and beauty; health and social care; horticulture; IT and computing; science; sports, recreation and fitness; tourism; transport; veterinary and the Youthreach programme for early school leavers.
Amongst the new courses listed in this year’s Prospectus are new Pathway courses in eBusiness (full-time) and Further Education and Training (part-time) in Donegal Town (Drumcliff FET Centre). These Level 4 courses aim to allow students to further their studies and explore employment opportunities in the area of eBusiness or various vocational areas. They were developed following the successful introduction of five new Pathway courses last year in Letterkenny (Port Road FET Centre) in Business Studies, Health and Fitness Studies, Health Care and Nursing Studies, Special Needs Assisting and Early Learning Studies and Science Studies.
The continued demand for courses in special needs assisting has seen the introduction of advanced training in this area through a new Level 6 component award in Stranorlar, while new IT courses are also listed in 2D Computer Aided Design and training as an IT Specialist in Python.
Information on apprenticeships, how to gain qualifications through the Recognition of Prior Learning process and enterprise engagement supports is also included.
Donegal ETB’s mission is to offer education and training opportunities that help students to achieve their full potential and to contribute to the social, cultural and economic life of their communities and last year almost 19,000 people availed of FET courses across the county.
