An Cumann Gaelach | The Irish Association

[lang_ie]Tá Cumann Gaelach curtha ar bun fosta sa scoil.  Is í Maire Nic Cathmhaoil, Múinteoir Gaeilge agus stair atá faoi stiúir an chumann gaelach agus tá coiste stiúrtha acu fosta.  Bhí “Árainn Mhór, oileán m’óige” ar cheann de thrí chlár a bhí roghnaithe le bheith sa choimhlint do na duaiseanna náisiúnta €650.00, €450.00 agus €350.00.  Fógraíodh na buaiteoirí i stiúideo RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta, na Doirí Beaga ar an Aoine 6ú Bealtaine le linn an chláir “Ronan Beo @3”.

Bhain Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada an chéad duais sa chomórtas agus cheannaigh siad hudaithe don Chumann Gaelach sa scoil leis an ainm “Cumann Gaelach Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada” scríofa orthu.  Tugadh deis daofa na geansaithe seo a chaitheamh le linn an turais scoile go Gartan a eagraíodh daofa i rith mí mheán fómhair fosta.

Comhghairdeas leis an chumann gaelach agus le gach duine a ghlac páirt sa chlár agus ádh mór orthu ó thaobh na himeachtaí ata beartaithe acu i rith na scoil bhliana seo.[/lang_ie] [lang_en-uk]An Irish association has been established in the school.  Máire Nic Cathmhaoil Irish and History teacher at the school is in charge of the school’s Irish association.  There are 30 pupils in the Irish Association and they also have set up a steering committee.  “Arranmore, Island of my youth” was one of the three programmes chosen to compete for national prizes of €650.00, €450.00 and €300 in the Gael Linn competition.  The winners were announced in the RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta studio in Derrybeg on Friday 6th May during the radio programme ronanlive@3.00p.m.

Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada won the first prize in the competition and they purchased Hoodies for the Irish Association with the name “Cumann Gaelach, Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada written on them.  They were afforded the opportunity to wear these jumpers during a recently organised trip to Gartan which took place in September 2011.

Congratulations to the Irish Association and to everyone who took part in the programme and good luck to them as they participate in a wide range of activities planned by them in the course of the current school year.
