Bhí cead ag na daltaí freastal ar ceithre cinn seo acu do na toirbhirtí a bhí suim acu ann agus tar éis sin bhí seisiúin de cheisteanna agus freagraí.

Bhí an tAonach comhordaithe ag Ms.Catherine Crawford atá mar Chomhairleoir Gairmthreorach. “Bíonn le cluinstin “ a deir Catherine “cuid mhór eolais óna Choláistí 3ú Leibhéil faoi na cúrsaí uile atá acu ach go minic is é an cheist is mó atá ag na mic léinn nó “: Cad a dhéanfaidh mé tar éis mo chuid ama sa Choláiste? Bhí mé féin ag iarraidh na daltaí anseo chluinstin faoi cad atá de dhíth uathu sna slite beatha éagsúla. Thug an tAonach an deis do na mic léinn éisteacht le daoine atá cáilithe sna réimsí éagsúla agus le ceisteanna a chuir orthu. Bhain siad an sásamh as an lá. Tá muid an buíoch do na cainteoirí uile a ghlac am amach óna gcuid laethanta oibre le bheith againn agus labhairt leis na daltaí óga seo ón 6ú Bliain”

Bhí am ag na daltaí measúnú a dhéanamh ar an Aonach seo agus bhí an t-aiseolas uile iontach dearfach ar fad. Dúirt dalta amháin go raibh sí an-tógtha le bheith i láthair agus ag éisteacht leis na toirbhirtí agus go bhfuair sí – “an mhuinín lena gcuid spriocanna a bhaint amach agus go raibh gach eolas iontach suimiúil agus ar fheabhas”.

[lang_en-uk]Mulroy College hosted it’s first Career Fair recently when 16 guest speakers came into the college to present to 6th year students. Each student had the opportunity to attend  four  presentations that they were interested in. The presentations lasted approx 30 mins and concluded with question and answer sessions.

The fair was organised by the career guidance counsellor Ms Catherine Crawford, “students hear so much from the third level colleges about  the courses available to them. Quite often the question for students is what will they do after college.  I wanted my students to have the opportunity to hear first hand what is needed and expected of them in various careers”. The career fair allowed students the opportunity to listen to successful, experienced professionals and get their questions answered. Students really benefited from the event . We are extremely grateful to all of our guest speakers for taking the time out of their busy day to advise 6th years students on possible careers”.

Students had the opportunity to evaluate the careers fair and the feedback was extremely positive. One student stated that from listening to the presentations she got “great courage to do her best to achieve her goals”. The presentations were described as interesting, informative and inspirational.
