Eileen Maguire retires from Errigal College, Letterkenny

Eileen Maguire, teacher in Errigal College, Letterkenny retired from her position as Home School Liaison Officer in Errigal College on Monday 31st August after an impressive 38 years of service with Donegal ETB.  Eileen began her career in 1976 in the Royal School, Co. Cavan but a year later she left to join Donegal ETB (then VEC) as teacher of Physical Education in Deele College, Raphoe in 1977.  Eileen then transferred to Errigal College, Letterkenny in 1987 where she remained until her retirement.

In her role as Home School Community Liaison person, Eileen strived to form invaluable links within the local community and building relationships between staff, students, and parents. These foundations stones, over the years, have continuously been built on and have amassed an incredible bond between all the stakeholders at Errigal College which is something that will continue to grow well into the future.

Recently, Eileen was part of the Editorial Team who produced the centenary publication entitled the ‘Errigal College – 100 Years Celebration’. The book is a fantastic collection of interviews, stories and photographs depicting the journey of the school from its beginning to the present date.

We wish Eileen on her retirement, a happy life with fun and happiness with family and friends.
