Cllr. Rena Donaghey Elected Chairperson of Donegal ETB

Donegal ETB is delighted to announce that Cllr. Rena Donaghey has been elected as Chairperson of Donegal ETB at its meeting this afternoon. Cllr. Niamh Kennedy has also been elected as Deputy Chairperson.

Speaking about her election Cllr. Donaghy said, ‘I am delighted to be elected to this important role with Donegal ETB. The ETB is the leading education and training provider in Donegal, managing fifteen out of the twenty-seven post-primary schools in the county, Gartan Outdoor Education and Training Centre, the Donegal Music Education Partnership and has legal responsibilities for youth work. It is also the largest provider of Further Education and Training (FET) in the county. In 2016 almost 24,500 students and learners availed of education and training through Donegal ETB. I look forward to supporting the staff of the ETB to continue this important work.”

Donegal ETB Chief Executive Anne McHugh said, “I would like to congratulate Rena on her election as Chairperson. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Cllr. Niamh Kennedy on her election as Deputy Chairperson and I look forward to working with both of them over the coming year.”
