‘Dream, Perform, Shine – ETB Stars’ takes place at 7.30pm in An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny on Tuesday 19 November.

It will celebrate the outstanding talent, creativity and commitment of students and staff from across Donegal ETB’s schools.

The idea for this cross-organisation event came from Crana College music teacher Laura Keogh. Speaking about it, Laura said, “‘Dream, Perform, Shine – ETB Stars’ is an initiative to encourage and develop the study and performance of music, dance and drama within the ETB school community. As a teacher of Performing Arts, I felt students needed the opportunity to present their talents to a wider audience, by giving students a platform to showcase their skills and expertise and, also allowing teachers and support staff to network.”

“The evening will be inclusive of many performing arts styles and genres. I am grateful to our Director of Schools, Dr Martin Gormley and the ETB team for their support and for helping to bring this project to life.” she said.

The inaugural showcase will involve students from twelve of its fifteen schools. These are the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal Town, Coláiste na Carraige, Crana College in Buncrana, Deele College in Raphoe, Finn Valley College in Stranorlar, Gairmscoil Chú Uladh in Béal an Átha Móir, Moville Community College, Magh Éne College in Bundoran, Mulroy College in Milford, and St Catherine’s Vocational School in Killybegs.

Students from the ETB’s two island schools, Coláiste Phobail Cholmcille from Toraigh island and Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada on Árainn Mhór island, will also participate.

Speaking about the event, Donegal ETB’s Director of Schools, Dr Martin Gormley, commented, “We have so many talented young people in our Donegal ETB schools and this event is a great opportunity for them to come together and show what they can do. I am especially pleased that students from our two island schools will be taking part. A huge amount of work has gone into preparing for this event and I want to thank the students and also acknowledge the staff for their enthusiasm and commitment. I have no doubt it will be a very enjoyable and memorable evening for everyone involved.”
