Corn Foirne CGO ag Coláiste Ghleann na Finne arís | Finn Valley College retain VEC team cup.

[lang_ie]Bhí an tríú ócáid do Chorn Seán Ó Longáin, Comórtas Idirscoile ar siúl ag Club Gailf Port an tSalainn ar an Satharn seo caite, 15ú Deireadh Fómhair. Bíonn coimhlint sa chomórtas seo idir na foirne ó na scoileanna agus ionaid éagsúla atá faoi scáth an Coiste Gairmoideachais Contae Dhún na nGall agus bhí sé go hiontach feiceáil go raibh roinnt mhaith acu i láthair. Bhí an bua i mbliana ag foireann Coláiste Ghleann na Finne, siad sin Paddy Mc Daid, Paul Mc Ginley agus Rory White. Seo an tríú bliain as a chéile a bhfuil an phríomhdhuais bainte amach ag Coláiste Ghleann na Finne, agus is rud iontach go bhfuil an fhoireann gach bliain déanta suas de dhaoine difriúla.
Bhí an-choimhlint i mbliana i rith an lae agus gan ach pointe amháin idir na trí fhoirne ab fhearr. Sa dara háit bhí Foireann Ban Gairmscoil na Mainistreach, sin Celine Markey, Miriam Bennett agus Mary Walsh agus fuair siad an bua ar an fhoireann ó na hOifigí Riaracháin CGO, Leitir Ceannainn , Jim Mc Glynn, Marcel Mc Cafferty agus captaen an cumann Dessie Larkin.

Bhí lá pléisiúrtha acu agus comhghairdeas leis na buaiteoirí.[/lang_ie] [lang_en-uk]The third staging of the annual Seán O Longáin Inter-Schools Cup was held in
Portsalon Golf Club on Saturday last 15/10/11.

This competition is contested by teams made up of members representing the various schools and centres of Donegal VEC and it was great to see so many of the centres represented. The Winning school this year was the Finn Valley College team, this year represented by Paddy Mc Daid, Paul Mc Ginley and Rory White. This is the third year in a row that a team representing Finn Valley College has won the competition, and indeed is the third different team formation from the school to have triumphed. This years competition proved to be a very closely fought battle indeed with just a single point separating the top three teams. Runners up on the day, with an excellent effort were the Abbey Vocational School ladies team made up of Celine Markey, Miriam Bennett and Mary Walsh, the ladies narrowly defeating the VEC Head Office team of Jim McGlynn, Marcel Mc Cafferty and society captain Dessie Larkin on a break of tie into third place.
A pleasurable day was had by all and congratulations to the winners.[/lang_en-uk]
