A Day in the Life of a Luxury Hotel

As Donegal heads into a record-breaking tourist year, we know we need to constantly update our courses in order to enhance not only the opportunities of our learners and trainees, but also the reputation of a region on the rise. Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) service recognises the potential to build up the Donegal brand name, and is delighted to play its part in doing that.

In order to fully prepare our learners for the world of work, each class in the Level 4 Tourism and Hospitality course is visiting hotels in their local area for ‘A Day in the Life of a Hotel’.

On 2 May the Catering Programmes, run in Moville and Letterkenny, visited Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel, a luxury 5-star hotel which has scooped up countless awards and now ranks as No 8 Hotel in the World. The photo below shows HR Manager Catherine Monahan of Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel sharing insights on attitude, grooming, customer service, and excellence in catering that constitutes superior hospitality. Head Chef Cedric defines 5-star dining as he takes the trainees through his tasting menu.

This memorable visit to Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel has inspired our learners by giving them a taste of superior dining and genuine hospitality. They leave with an insight to the value of welcome, food and hospitality that attracts visitors from around the world and imbues visitors with a desire to come back for more.
