FET Services Presentation of Awards in Letterkenny

Over one hundred people gathered in the Radisson Hotel, Letterkenny on Thursday 29 November to receive a wide range of awards from Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) Services.

Donegal ETB presented certificates to one hundred adult learners who achieved certification in a range of full-time and a part-time programmes over the last year, completed in its Further Education and Training Centres in Letterkenny.

Certificates were presented in a wide range of programmes and subject areas including Accounting Technician, Basic Computers, Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Literacy, Digital Sales, Door Security and Guarding Skills, ICT, IT Support, Java Foundation, Leaving Certificate, Manual and Computerised Bookkeeping, Multimedia, Payroll, Software Developer, Surf Instructor and Beach Lifeguard, Technical Employability Skills and Training and Development.

Speaking at the awards, Cróna Gallagher, Director of FET, Donegal ETB congratulated all the learners saying, “I’m delighted to be able to share in their achievements. The certification they have received here tonight will now open up many more progression options to them within the world of work or further and higher education and training.”

A number of learners also spoke on the night about their experience of completing a FET course with Donegal ETB. These included Marie Mitchell (ICT), Piaras Buchanan (Software Developer), Elilish Browne (Payroll), Dean Kane (Java Foundations), Susan O Donnell (Business Management) and Fran Duffy (Surf Instructor).

Donegal ETB Chairperson, Cllr Martin Hanley, who presented the awards said, “It’s an honour to present awards to so many adults and I would like to congratulate each and every one of them on their achievements.”

Many of the FET awards were co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020.
